Gerry is a bilateral transradial amputee, he lost both hands due to an electrical accident which he came in contact with 7200 volts, due to the injuries, he has very limited bend in his elbows, without the wrist flexion, he wouldn’t be able to eat or drink with his body powered prosthetics. This unit allows him to do certain task without using exaggerated body positions, which in time would cause shoulder and back issues.
Gerry is considered a high user of his prosthetics, and found the units to be very durable and easy to use. On averaged Gerry’ uses his body powered prosthetics 40-50% of the time. He primarily uses them to do his outdoor work since they are more durable.
